I'm in Oxford right now and I'm sooo excited! We're going to go shopping, and I'm finally going to get a cell phone! I'm excited to decorate it! I also might need glasses, but we're visiting a optometrist later this week probably. I'm also going to buy a mitten to make a mitten purse.

How to Look, Feel, and Be Healthier

With the first day of school approaching, you might be wanting to shape up your health and beauty in time for school. Here are some easy, cheap tips to help you out.

1. Take a shower. Make sure you properly shampoo and condition your hair, and rinse thoroughly. If you have callused feet from walking on the hot sidewalks, you can scrub those away with a foot scrubber. If you want to shave your legs, go ahead and do so, but make sure to use a nice scented lotion afterwards. This will help make your legs shiny and smooth.
2. Dry you hair until it is damp. If you want to blow-dry it, make sure to use a low setting. Comb your hair with a widetooth comb, starting with the ends. Then use a headband to push your hair out of your face.
3. Use a clay face mask. You can put it all over your face, but I suggest just putting it on your nose, upper chin, and in between your eyebrows. This mask will help clean you pores and prevent pimples.
4. While your face mask is drying, you can paint you nails and/or toenails. This is completely up to you. If you do, choose a soft pink for you nails, and a light blue or green for your toenails. You don't want to get in trouble for something stupid like nail polish, especially if you're going to a new school.
5. Next, you should round your nails. If they are long, trim them first, and then start rounding. If you have the 4 step type, follow the steps and use your board at an angle. If you have a normal emery board, do your best and use it at an angle as well.
6. Your face mask should be dry by now. Check it carefully with you fingers, and then take it off with water. Make sure you keep your mouth shut during this process.
7. Next, brush your teeth and do your normal nightly routine. Make sure you floss.
8. Go to sleep relaxed and at a good time. I suggest around 9:00 to 9:30. If that is early for you, try it anyway. It might help keep you awake and attentive for the first day.
9. When you wake up, put on your make-up (if wanted) and do your morning routine. Make sure to eat a healthy breakfast, and wash your face. Do your hair whatever way you want, but it would be better if it wasn't in your face. Then you can concentrate better without having to brush your bangs away every 5 seconds.
10. If you can't go to sleep and wake up with big black circles under your eyes, try this trick. Go to youtube.com, and look up AllThatGlitters21. You should be able to find a tutorial for looking wide awake, even when you're practically drooling on your desk. Try to tone it down a bit though, because there's a lot of make-up for this tutorial.
11. Don't forget to treat yourself some more with some of your favorite candy! If you have braces, you can buy sugarless gum, because the sugar is what sticks to your braces.

Tips

* To help you relax, light some scented candles (ask first) and put on some relaxing music.
* Make sure to pick a nice outfit that is comfortable, yet pretty. Put on sensible shoes that you can walk around in, especially if you are starting middle or high school.
* Keep one or two of your candies in your bag/backpack for times when you're feeling really low. They will boost your confidence and make you feel so much better. Just remember to save them for when you really need them.

Warnings

* If you choose to light candles, make sure you talk to an adult about where to put them so that the risk of something catching fire is low. Ask an adult to light the candles, or light them yourself while they are there to help guide you.
